Day 1 Peru

Welcome to Peru!

Your 16-day adventure begins here in Lima. You are free to arrive at your leisure today. Upon arrival at Jorge Chávez International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel.

Arriving in the historic city of Lima known as the “City of Kings”, Lima was founded by Francisco Pizarro in 1535 and today offers a fascinating blend of history, culture, and gastronomy. Elegant colonial facades line the historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where grand plazas, ornate churches, and stately government buildings reflect the city’s storied past.

Beyond the plazas, discover world-renowned museums housing exquisite collections of pre-Columbian treasures, or visit the San Francisco Church to wander through its famous catacombs. Lima is also recognised as one of the gastronomic capitals of the world.

Day 2 Peru

Lima Main Square – Historic Centre, Peru

Half-Day Lima City Tour & Peruvian Gastronomy Walking Experience

This morning, you will be collected from your hotel to discover the vibrant capital of Peru with the Lima City Tour. Start by exploring Lima’s historic centre, where you will start with a panoramic view of Huaca Pucllana, considered an important ceremonial centre belonging to the pre-Inca Lima culture. Then you will head towards the historic centre of Lima, passing through important districts of San Isidro, Lince, and Cercado de Lima. En-route, you will see notable landmarks such as the Palacio de Justicia (Justice Palace), the Lima Art Museum, the French Palace, and the Plaza San Martin (San Martin Square). In Lima downtown, you will have a walking tour starting at the Plaza de Armas, including the Cathedral of Lima, the Government Palace, and the Archbishop’s Palace. Then you will visit the Convent of San Francisco and its catacombs, one of the most iconic religious complexes in Lima. Finally, you will enjoy a panoramic drive along the coast, stopping at Parque del Amor, with amazing views of the Pacific Ocean.

Later in the afternoon, you will be picked up to start this nice tour where you will taste around 14 Peruvian flavours in one of Lima’s nicest neighbourhoods, called Barranco. You will also learn the historical and cultural details behind each Peruvian dish. After the tour, you will return to your hotel.

This morning, you will be collected very early from your hotel to start your adventure from Lima with a comfortable transfer to Paracas, where you’ll embark on a boat trip to the Ballestas Islands, often called the “Galápagos of Peru”. On the way, admire the mysterious Candelabro Geoglyph, a giant figure carved into the coastal sand dunes. As you reach the islands, experience the rich marine life, spotting sea lions, Humboldt penguins and a variety of seabirds in their natural habitat before returning to the pier.

Continue to Ica, where you’ll visit a renowned winery, learn about pisco and wine production, and enjoy a tasting of Peru’s iconic drink. Then head to the Huacachina Oasis, a stunning desert lagoon surrounded by towering sand dunes. Experience an exhilarating dune buggy ride through the vast desert and try sandboarding, sliding down the golden dunes for an unforgettable thrill. The tour ends with your return to the hotel later in the evening.

Day 4 Peru

Sacred Valley of the Incas – Peru

Day 5 Peru

Maras Salt Mines – Sacred Valley, Peru

Full-Day Maras Salt Mines, Moray Terraces & Ollantaytambo Tour

After breakfast at your hotel, your tour guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel to start your Sacred Valley tour. This immersive full-day tour will take you through picturesque villages that have preserved their ancestral customs and rich cultural heritage. Along the way, explore an ancient agricultural site featuring remarkable circular terraces called Moray, ingeniously designed to create distinct microclimates for cultivating a variety of crops. Then you will continue to Maras, which is a small town to make a panoramic view of the Salt Mines “Salineras de Maras” at an altitude of 3,200 masl approximately. It has approximately 3000 thousand salt wells, exploited by 360 families or partners, people who came from Maras Ayllu and Pichingoto. Afterwards, savour a delicious traditional lunch made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, offering an authentic taste of Andean cuisine. After a relaxed meal, you will continue to Ollantaytambo, one of the most important archaeological sites in the valley. You will visit the Temple of the Sun, the Inca Terraces, and the water channels. At the end of your tour, you will be taken back to your hotel in the Sacred Valley. Day 6 Peru

Machu Picchu Citadel – Inca Wonder, Peru

Full-Day Machu Picchu Tour & Transfer to Cusco

After an early breakfast at your hotel in the Sacred Valley, we will pick you up from your hotel to transfer you to the Ollantaytambo train station, where you will board the train to Machu Picchu town, also known as Aguas Calientes town, the closest town to the Machu Picchu citadel. Upon arrival at Aguas Calientes train station, you will be picked up and taken on foot to the bus station to take the 25-minute bus up to Machu Picchu citadel, where your local tour guide will be waiting for you to start your amazing journey through the citadel of Machu Picchu. During your tour, you will be able to visit important places such as the Sun Temple, the Sun Stone, and the Three Windows room. After your tour, you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes town and will have some free time to explore Aguas Calientes, have lunch, shop for souvenirs or simply relax before taking the train back to Ollantaytambo, where our team will be waiting for you to transfer you back to Cusco city. After check-in at your hotel, the rest of the evening is at your leisure.

Day 7 Peru

Sacsayhuamán Archaeological Site – Cusco, Peru

Full-Day Cusco Market, Inca Sites & Textile Traditions Tour

Today, after breakfast, you will be collected from your hotel to be taken to the traditional Market of San Pedro. Where you will see how locals buy and see a variety of local products, you will also find nice souvenirs at a good price. Your next stop will be the Temple of the Sun (Qoricancha), one of the most important religious centres in the Inca Empire. Then enjoy a nice lunch in a local restaurant before heading to the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman, a vast ceremonial complex, and Qenqo, an ancient site known for its mysterious rock carvings. Afterwards, visit the Sulca Textile Museum, where you will see how people recreate traditional fabrics and garments using ancestral techniques inspired on the different pre-Columbian, Inca and contemporary cultures. Return to your hotel for a restful evening.

Today is a free day to explore Cusco at your leisure. You may wish to go shopping, or visit instagrammable spots that are located close to the historic centre, such as Siete Borreguitos, or the charming San Blas neighbourhood, take amazing photos, or enjoy Peruvian traditional cuisine at one of the city’s best restaurants.

After an early breakfast, pick-up from your hotel and take you to the train station. You will travel between Cusco and Puno through the breathtaking Peruvian Andes.

Day 10 Peru

Uros Islands – Lake Titicaca, Peru

Very early today, you will be picked up from you hotel and taken to the port to begin the tour with the a visit to Uros Floating Islands, constructed entirely from totora reeds, where you will meet the Uros residents, descendants of an ancient civilisation that has adapted to life on the water for centuries. Learn about their fascinating traditions, sustainable lifestyle, and the ingenuity behind these floating homes.

Then you will be taken to Chucuito Peninsula, from where you will reach the beautiful community of Luquina, nestled in a tranquil corner of the lake far from the usual tourist trails. Luquina offers a cultural connection and authenticity. In the community, you will enjoy a traditional lunch prepared by locals. At the end of the tour, you will navigate back to the port, and then you will be taken back to your hotel.

Day 11 Bolivia

Tiwanaku Archaeological Site – Bolivia

Transfer from Puno to La Paz via Desaguadero with Visit to Tiwanaku

Today, be ready at your hotel to be picked up. You will travel from Puno to the city of La Paz, crossing the border at Desaguadero. Where you will change transportation. Along the way, enjoy scenic views of the high Andean plateau and get a glimpse of local life in the rural villages of southern Peru and western Bolivia.

After clearing immigration and customs at the Desaguadero border, you will continue in a different vehicle on the Bolivian side to visit the impressive archaeological site of Tiwanaku, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This ancient ceremonial centre was once the heart of a powerful pre-Inca civilisation and features fascinating structures such as the Kalasasaya Temple, the Gate of the Sun, Ponce Monolith, and Akapana Pyramid.

Your visit includes a guided tour of the site and the on-site museum, which houses stone carvings, artefacts, and displays about the Tiwanaku culture.

After your visit, continue the drive to La Paz, where you will be dropped off at your selected hotel. Arrival in the late afternoon.

Day 12 Bolivia

In the afternoon, you will be picked up from your hotel to enjoy this marvellous city of La Paz, but from a whole new perspective. This tour combines stunning aerial views, cultural encounters, and a delicious local tasting. Hop aboard the city’s iconic cable car system, the highest and most scenic urban cable car network in the world.

You will first start with the Red Line, offering panoramic views as you ascend from central La Paz. You will also visit the Yatiris street, where the local healers and traditional Andean beliefs shape the cultural identity of the area. Continue on the Silver Line, connecting you through El Alto’s unique urban landscape.

Then back down on the Yellow Line, descending through the charming Sopocachi district and into the southern part of the city, before continuing on the Green Line to the residential Irpavi neighbourhood, a quieter and more modern side of La Paz. Finally, enjoy a taste of Bolivian tradition with a morning Bolivian Salteña tasting or an afternoon Yungueña empanada known as “Jaguitas”. At the end of the tour, we will drop you off at your hotel.

Flight from La Paz to Uyuni & Begin 2D/2N Uyuni Salt Flats Programme with Stargazing

Today, very early in the morning. We will transfer you from your hotel to the airport to board the domestic flight to the impressive Uyuni Salt Flats.

Upon arrival, transfer to the city centre to begin the tour of one of Bolivia’s natural wonders.

We begin with a visit to the Train Cemetery, just 10 minutes from Uyuni, followed by a stop in Colchani, where you’ll find a handicraft market featuring salt crafts and woollen goods made from llama and alpaca. You’ll also see how salt is processed by hand.

We continue to the Salt Mounds, saltwater eyes (natural springs), the Dakar Rally monument, and the World Flags Plaza. Then you will visit the first Salt Hotel, now a museum and restaurant, where lunch will be served. When it’s cold and windy, a picnic lunch is arranged on the salt flats, complete with colourful tablecloths and cushions.

After lunch, you will visit Incahuasi Island, known for its giant cacti. A walk to the top of the island offers spectacular views of the Uyuni Salt Flats. Here you’ll have the chance to take creative perspective photos and videos on the salt flat.

Tonight, weather permitting, enjoy an unforgettable stargazing experience on the salt flats, where the sky reflects beautifully against the salty surface, creating an otherworldly scene.

Please Note: Occasionally in the rainy season the salt flats become overly flooded and we may have to alter the itinerary if the salt flats are not safe to traverse.

Day 14 Bolivia

Green Lagoon – Eduardo Avaroa Reserve, Bolivia

Final Day of Uyuni Salt Flats Programme with Pulacayo and Natural Lagoons Experience

Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to the mining town of Pulacayo, one of Bolivia’s most important historical mining centres. Here you will find a train identified as the one robbed by Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in 1908. Along the way, you may spot local wildlife and fauna of the highlands.

Arrival in Tomave, a town known for its colonial church and traditional architecture. Then we continue to the Hot Springs (natural medicinal waters), with a temperature of around 35°C. We continue with a visit to the beautiful lagoons, including Laguna Verde Warmy Kasilla and Laguna Celeste Orqo Kasilla, located at 4,800 masl (metres above sea level).

Lunch en route. Return to Uyuni and transfer to the hotel.
